Highlander's Dawn

A disastrous Highland Past:
One chance. One thousand years in the past to make it happen -- In the chaos of the medieval Highlands, war is at hand and the fate of the clans is at stake. As is the fate of an unassuming mushroom growing in eastern Scotland in 900 CE, before a mad king battling Viking invaders applied a scorched earth policy and eradicated it. William MacDougal, Scottish warrior and nephew of the MacDougal Laird, is caught in the middle of it.
The Scottish Heroine in the Present:
Emilie Gordon’s beloved Scotland and the world at large are in turmoil over an unknown illness. When a magical Romani woman tasks her with traveling through the fabric of time to protect her loved ones, Emilie learns she alone can save the one thing to combat this illness: a now-extinct mushroom from eastern Scotland in 900 CE, wiped out by a mad king's scorched earth strategy. Given her knowledge of history, Emilie assumes the identity of her distant relative Ailith and believes she can pull this off. Strange? Yes. Impossible? Probably.
Emilie, now Ailith, manages to locate the vital pink mushrooms, but her involvement with William is not as simple. The blonde, half-Viking Highlander with a physique that rivals any model athlete covets her body and her heart. And he seems willing to do anything to win it, even if it means helping Ailith in her odd request to find and plant tiny mushrooms.
Yet William wants more than her body, he longs for her heart. And he is willing to do anything to win it.
What will the future hold?
Amid the chaos in the medieval Highlands, William becomes the rock that she can cling to as she tries to repopulate the plant that will save millions in the future, including her own father.
But will she find the love that William craves from her? Or will the mad king destroy the future for them all?
