The stories told around campfires say the world that existed before 'The Wandering' was a beautiful place. A place with buildings taller than trees and massive cities home to millions. The stories about that world say a person could drink water without walking to the river and eat food without hunting in the forests. They never slept in the rain and they had machina that could do amazing things. But that world died 100 years ago. In the place of the old world, a new one was born. A world referred to by the inhabitants only as "The Waste". It's a world of the barest survival by tribes and individual wandering the land. It's a world where bullets are used as money and ownership of a single book is a sign of great wealth. But a dark land grows darker still when a strange new people arrive from over the mountains and begin to slaughter the tribes of The Waste, threatening the complete destruction of all the people. And no amount of bullets or books can push back the invasion. Only one man and one woman, working together, can stop it. But he doesn’t care. And she cares too much.
