Eno angers the Great God Pan and is forced to leave his native Thrace for somewhere more 'civilized' where the God of the Wood cannot follow him. The High Priest of Amun in Thebes, Egypt, needs the hero's help but is fuzzy on the details, except that several heroes have already perished after taking on the job. It's possible that civilization has dangers than nature never holds, including the beautiful Naunet who declares Eno the Thracian is the only man for her. Still, being a hero for hire is Eno's business...if he survives.
