1930’s rural Australia. Baddar, a wild hearted 7 years old would tell you he is special. As the blood grandchild of the last Afghan cameleer and his wife, Rose, an aboriginal woman, Baddar knew he was destined for more. Bored of small-town life and overwhelmed by childlike curiosity, his ancestor's tales of tribesmen and cameleers is all he needs to fuel his imagination. Desperate to gain the respect of both his families, Baddar often finds himself conflicted on his identity. His struggle with his dual heritage appears to be just some of the reasoning behind his rebellious nature as he combats with the ideas of being identified as either an “Afghan Tribesman” or an “Aboriginal Cameleer”. As Baddar and his friends strive for adventure always lands them into tremendous trouble, which never pleases their fellow townsfolk. But, when trouble comes to Willow Vale in the form of a devastating bushfire that threatens to destroy their town, it’s the children of Willow Vale Rural School that may be the only ones who can save the town’s residence and find their places within the community
